Sony Michel battled injuries as a rookie, but he took the NFL by storm in the 2019 postseason. When on the field, Michel was tremendous. He tallied 336 rushing yards (4.7 yards per carry) and six touchdowns through three postseason games.

So when the new England Patriots drafted Damien Harris in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, it took some analysts by surprise. Well, we might finally have an explanation, as Michel has been dealing with a knee injury and may be sidelined until training camp.

This is yet another instance of what has become a troubling trend for Michel. The Georgia product missed most of last year's offseason program, and sat out three games due to injuries as a rookie.

If Michel is forced to miss time once again, Harris becomes an interesting fantasy football target. Despite being overshadowed by the rest of Alabama's elite NFL prospects, Harris was highly productive for the Crimson Tide.

Harris racked up a cumulative 2,913 rushing yards over the last three seasons, despite splitting time some of Alabama's more well-known RBs over the years. He's also a threat as a receiver, hauling in 22 receptions for 204 yards in last season with the Tide.

Harris will still likely have to split time with Rex Burkhead and James White, but his time at Alabama showed that he can thrive in a split backfield. And Michel proved that a rookie can have success rushing behind New England's dominant run-blocking offensive line last season.

While New England's running back usage is notoriously difficult to predict, Harris could become a trendy fantasy football sleeper if Michel's knee injury lingers into the season.
