The Buffalo Bills moved to 7-4 after an impressive Week 12 Thanksgiving Day win over the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately, the win came with some devastating news around All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White.

White will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury. Head coach Sean McDermott recently discussed his plans for the secondary moving forward.

Tre'Davious White Injury

White is a clear leader on one of the NFL's best defensive units and McDermott certainly understands the magnitude of his loss. Buffalo's head coach reiterated their next-man-up mentality and the need for players to step up in White's loss.

"It is next-man-up, regardless. But I think collectively as a team, we've got to take our game another level."

McDermott and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier mentioned one name to immediately fill into White's role: second-year corner Dane Jackson.

Jackson has appeared in just 18% of Buffalo's defensive snaps as a depth corner, but owns 14 combined tackles on the year.

McDermott and Frazier doubled down on their confidence in Jackson's ability to step up, noting that plays to Buffalo's "DNA in terms of gritty, resilient, player that's tough, and he's up for the challenge."

Buffalo ranks second in the league by allowing 178.5 passing yards per game. Starting cornerback Levi Wallace will also now be tasked with squaring off against No. 1 wide receivers. Wallace leads the team with 8 passes defended.
