Seahawks Sign Key Piece to Long-Term Extension After Season Ends

The Seattle Seahawks just finished a season that well surpassed the team's expectations entering the season. Seattle was able to make the playoffs after projecting to be one of the worst teams in the NFL. Now, Seattle is locking up one of the guys that helped get them there with a big contract extension.
Seahawks Sign Jason Myers
The Seahawks have signed kicker Jason Myers to a four-year $22.6 million contract extension that keeps him in Seattle through the 2026 season.
Seattle Seahawks gave a new four-year, $21.1 million deal worth up to $22.6 million with incentives to kicker Jason Myers, whose contract was set to expire in March, per source. Myers tied to the team through the 2026 season.

Myers was excellent this season, converting over 91 percent of his field goal attempts and 41 of 42 extra point attempts. He was also perfect from 50-plus yards on field goal attempts, converting all six from that distance.
Still just 31 years old, Myers has a ton of football left in him at the kicker position. If he keeps up this level of play, he could play into his 40's.
Seattle will have plenty to address this offseason, but kicker is now one position it doesn't have to worrry about for a while.
