As the Seattle Seahawks continue with their training camp, one notable player who has yet to practice is left tackle Duane Brown. The four-time Pro-Bowler has been holding out of training camp as he looks for a substantial increase in his contract. As it stands, he's set to make $11.35 million in the 2021 NFL season, according to Spotrac, however, he wants to be paid like the other top players at his position.

As the situation drags on, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson chimed in with his thoughts after practice on Sunday. Judging by his words, he knows how important Brown is to the time and put some pressure on Seattle's front office to get a deal done ahead of the new season.

Wilson told reporters that Brown's absence from practice is a "pretty significant deal" and expressed that the Seahawks "need" him out there on the field.

" I don't think there's anybody more athletic than [Brown]. You see what he can do. And he's also our leader. He's a guy who really leads the offensive line, and really, he commands the offensive line and really can set the tone."

A 13-year NFL veteran, Brown has been one of the best left tackles in the league throughout his tenure — as proven by being named to the Pro Bowl four times. While he's set to turn 36 by the end of the month, that doesn't mean he isn't effective anymore. In fact, Brown was given an 87.3 overall grade in 2020 by Pro Football Focus, which goes to show that he's still great at what he does despite being at the backend of his career.

The Seahawks offensive line left a lot to be desired last season as it gave up 3.0 sacks per game, which is tied for the fifth-highest average in the NFL. However, Brown was, by far, the best part of Seattle's o-line. He allowed just two sacks while taking two penalties on 1,048 offensive snaps, which goes to show just why Wilson thinks so highly of him.

The Seahawks are projected to be a top-10 team in the 2021 NFL season. FanDuel Sportsbook has them list at +2000 odds to win Super Bowl 56, which ranks ninth-best across the league. However, those odds could certainly take a hit if the Seahawks can't get Brown back on the field sooner than later.
