The Kansas City Royals were one of the quieter MLB teams at the ferocious 2021 trade deadline. With the dust settled, Baseball America has released a ranking of every farm system in baseball.

Despite the quiet deadline and lack of acquiring any major prospect talent, the Royals come in at No. 3 in these latest prospect rankings.

Royals Prospects

Bobby Witt remains the crown jewel of Kansas City's farm system. In fact, the five-tool shortstop ranks No. 5 on MLB.com's overall prospect top-100 rankings. Witt displays every trait fans want to see from their top prospects, including hitting for both power and average while displaying A+ speed and defense.

The Royals promoted Witt to their Triple-A affiliate in July. In 2021, he's slashed .292/.365/.575 across both levels with 24 home runs and 70 RBIs in 85 games played.

First baseman prospect Nick Pratto's emergence at Double-A has helped the Royals climb this rankings. Pratto is now listed as the No. 96 best prospect in baseball and No. 5 in Kansas City's system. The stellar defender saw a surge in his performance at the plate in 61 Double-A games this season, slashing .271/.404/.570 with 13 doubles, 4 triples, 15 home runs and 43 RBIs.

Royals fans should have a lot of hope for the future after this latest spot in the farm system rankings.
