It has been a pretty quiet offseason for the Colorado Rockies. A team going through a rebuild, one year after losing its best player in free agency, it's an uphill battle in the Mile High City right now.

Pierce Johnson Rockies Contract

While Colorado may not be making any huge splashes, they aren't going to be completely quiet either. The Rockies did make a small move on Tuesday, signing pitcher Pierce Johnson to a one-year deal.

Pierce, a Denver, Colorado native, spent the last three seasons with the San Diego Padres. He was really good in both 2020 and 2021, pitching to a 2.70 and 3.22 ERA, respectively. 2022 was a different story, though. Pierce's ERA was a 5.02, granted that was only in 14.1 innings pitched, so rust and injuries could have very well played a part in that drop-off.

Colorado chose to see him for the two years prior and hope that with a full spring training with them can bounce-back to his numbers of old.
