Chicago White Sox right-handed pitcher Reynaldo Lopez gave the team a scare when he exited Monday's 12-9 loss to the Cleveland Guardians before the 11th inning with back tightness. He's been one of his club's top relievers so far, which is why White Sox fans are feeling optimistic following his latest injury update.

Lopez told reporters on Wednesday that his back tightness is improving and that "today is much better than yesterday." The 28-year-old right proved that catch at a 90-foot distance and could be back in the swing of things in the next couple of days if his progress continues.

Lopez has been a solid piece for Chicago's bullpen this year. His 3.86 ERA is the second-best of his career so far and he's yet to allow a home run over 11.2 innings pitched.

The White Sox bullpen's 3.45 ERA is the 12th-best in the Majors and getting a healthy Lopez back in the mix should keep them at a high level.
