Reds Get Tough Injury Update on Max Schrock
By Max Staley

The Cincinnati Reds are having a tough season, opening the year with an 18-34 record. The team was hoping the return of second baseman Max Shrock could help turn things around, but Cincy just got some bad news on that front.
Shrock reportedly suffered a setback in his rehab.
Vladimir Gutierrez and Jonathan India will both get MRIs tomorrow. Max Schrock had a very minor setback on his rehab assignment and David Bell said he’s getting close.

Max Shrock Injury Update
Manager David Bell didn't sound overly concerned, but a setback is obviously never good. Especially since Shrock was a pretty reliable hitter for Cincinnati last year.
He slashed .288/.328/.448 with 3 home runs, 7 doubles, and 14 RBI in 53 appearances last year, though he has yet to suit up in 2022.
We still don't know how long Shrock will remain on the shelf, but time is ticking on Cincinnati's season. The Reds are 13.5 games back in the NL Central and are considered extreme long shots to win the division crown, as they're available at +55000 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
