Red Sox Get Awesome Injury Update on Justin Turner

Red Sox fans have been closely monitoring Justin Turner's status this week after he got hit by a pitch in the face on Monday. Thankfully, he appeared to avoid serious damage and only came away needing stitches.
Turner provided another encouraging update to reporters at Spring Training on Sunday.
"I got pretty lucky, all things considered. Every day, I've been getting a little bit better. I actually got the last of the stitches removed today and starting to do some baseball activities, so that's encouraging." -- Justin Turner, who just spoke to small group of media.

Justin Turner Injury Update
Turner told the media that he got the last of his stitches removed on Sunday and is starting to resume baseball activities.
This is great news for the 38-year-old, who also added that he expects to be ready for Opening Day on March 30. Turner still has 2 1/2 weeks to get ready and get some more Spring Training games under his belt, which he believes will be enough time.
The Red Sox are counting on Turner to help anchor their lineup this year after signing him in the offseason. The former All-Star is expected to replace J.D. Martinez at DH while also filling in at first and third base as needed.
