Ravens Rumors Link Team to Pro Bowl Defender in Free Agency
By Max Staley

The Baltimore Ravens have been pretty quiet thus far in free agency. While the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns have all made some big-name additions, Baltimore has been content to sit back and shed salary.
But Ravens fans will be happy to know the team could be making one major addition this offseason, as Baltimore is reportedly in the mix to sign Za'Darius Smith.
The Ravens are reportedly pursuing former Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith and are interested in a reunion https://t.co/ggwj4sNmT2

Za'Darius Smith Ravens
Smith began his career as a Raven, playing in Baltimore from 2015-18. But he took his game to new heights in Green Bay, making the Pro Bowl in both of his healthy seasons with the Packers. While he missed most of the 2021 campaign due to injury, the edge rusher racked up a whopping 26.0 sacks, 29.0 tackles for loss and 60 QB hits during his first two seasons as a Packer.
He'd be a great addition to a Ravens team that could really use some more talent on the edge. Smith could even be a veteran mentor to promising second-year EDGE Odafe Oweh.
Baltimore is operating with about $16 million in cap space this offseason, so signing Smith is probably the only big-time move this team can afford to make. But it's exactly the type of addition the Ravens need to make to keep pace in the AFC North.
