The Baltimore Ravens' poor injury luck has continued in 2022, especially on defense. Their health woes have led this usually formidable unit to become a major weakness, though they've battled through the early obstacles to lead the AFC North at 3-2.
Now Baltimore's defense is set to receive a huge boost ahead of Week 6.
The Ravens are expected to welcome back EDGE Tyus Bowser to practice on Wednesday, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec. That's not at all, though, as 2022 second-round pick David Ojabo should return to the field as well this week.
Bowser's return is massive for a defense that's struggled to get to the quarterback. The Ravens' 11.0 sacks sit just in the middle of the pack, and they currently rank sixth-worst in QB pressure rate. Getting Bowser back after his career-high 7.0-sack season in 2021 should immediately elevate this pass rush.
Ojabo could take this unit over the top if he returns to form after tearing his Achilles in March. The Michigan product was a sure-fire first-round talent before his injury after recording a whopping 11.0 sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss as a junior.
Hopefully both players' returns to practice goes off without a hitch and allows them to suit up for games in short order.
