The Texas Rangers aren't done making a splash in MLB free agency. Texas agreed to a deal with star shortstop/second baseman Marcus Semien on Sunday, backing up their talk about adding talent this offseason.

The Rangers have now been linked to another star SS after the Semien signing.

Corey Seager Rangers

Texas is reportedly one of two teams "much more" involved in the pursuit of Corey Seager. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Seager's current team, are the other who have been constantly connected to the shortstop so far.

Given Semien's positional flexibility, this would be a massive haul if Texas can reel in Seager. He hit 16 home runs and 57 RBI this past season while slashing .306/.394/.521. His championship pedigree, which includes a World Series MVP in 2020, would give this Rangers team legit playoff hopes.

Texas looks committed to making sure last season's 60-102 finish isn't repeated in 2022. With Semien and starter Jon Gray incoming, plus a potential Seager addition, this team could bounce back in a major way next year.
