The Los Angeles Rams had a really rough season in 2022, but one of the few bright spots was linebacker Bobby Wagner. He was his usual stellar self, being named an All-Pro for the ninth consecutive year. He was also the highest-graded linebacker by PFF in the entire NFL.

On Thursday, however, both Wagner and the Rams decided to mutually part ways after just one season together.

Despite people expecting the Rams to have a bounce-back season in 2023, not many consider them contenders. Los Angeles needs to shed salary and Wagner wants to have a chance to win another Super Bowl, it was a mutually beneficial split.

Wagner is still an incredible linebacker, one of the best in the league even though he's on the wrong side of 30. He's someone who comes in and instantly transforms a defense both on the field and in the locker room.

Expect a number of contending teams to be in the bidding for Wagner's services, as he could be a difference-maker for a team looking to get over the hump in 2023.
