The Las Vegas Raiders pulled off a blockbuster deal Thursday when they acquired All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for two 2022 draft picks. While some teams might be content after such a massive trade, it appears that the Raiders are far from finished.

Sports Illustrated's Hondo Carpenter reported Friday morning that the Raiders are "not done trying to get better." Sources close to Carpenter said that Las Vegas is still planning to pursue another "big name" in free agency.

Raiders Free Agency

The Raiders signed Adams to a five-year, $141.25 million contract shortly after the trade was finalized, translating to an average annual value (AAV) of $28.25 million. Even though his 2022 cap hit is unknown at the moment, Las Vegas had $36.6 million in space (Over the Cap) before the trade, so it's entirely possible to sign another big-name free agent.

Most of the top free agents have already been signed, but there is one available name that the Raiders have been linked to. Las Vegas Review-Journal's Vincent Bonsignore reported Friday that the 'Black and Silver' is pursuing two-time All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

Gilmore has been one of the best cornerbacks in the league in recent years. He spent the 2021 campaign with the Carolina Panthers, playing nine games and recording 16 tackles, two interceptions and two defended passes while holding opposing quarterbacks to a 78.6 passer rating when targeted.

Although Carpenter didn't confirm that Gilmore was the "big name" he was talking about, it certainly makes sense if it ends up being him. He also has a history with Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels from their time in New England, which could give him the incentive to sign with Las Vegas.

The Raiders already improved their secondary by adding CB Rock Ya-Sin and adding Gilmore to the fold would help them keep up in the offensively-talented AFC West.

It'll be intriguing to see if the Raiders can sign another big-name in the coming days. Even though their +500 odds to win the AFC West on FanDuel Sportsbook are impressive, it still has them sitting last behind their three divisional rivals.
