3 Recently Released Players the Raiders Need to Sign on the Waiver Wire
By Larry Rupp

NFL teams across the league are making their final roster cuts, which means players upon players are hitting the waiver wire looking to get picked up. These are athletes looking for a new place to call home with motivation to prove they are still worth a roster spot at the professional level.
The Las Vegas Raiders can take advantage of this opportunity and address their depth issues by bringing in some recently released players. With that being said, here are three great options.
It's like Christmas Eve with the Raiders seeing OL, CB, RB and LB names slowly pop up on the waiver wire. Depth needs to be addressed this week.

Raiders Waiver Wire
1. Darwin Thompson, Running Back
The Raiders' backfield is led by Pro Bowler Josh Jacobs and he is followed behind by free-agent signing Kenyan Drake. However, the depth stops right about there. Jalen Richard is currently the team's best third-string candidate, but he is dealing with a foot injury. Las Vegas would be smart to claim versatile RB Darwin Thompson. The 24-year-old was recently released by the Kansas City Chiefs after racking up 333 yards from scrimmage and 3 touchdowns in 26 games played. His ability to make an impact in both the rushing and passing attack should intrigue the Raiders' coaching staff.
2. Jahlani Tavai, Linebacker
Another position of need in Las Vegas can be found on the defensive side of the ball. The team's lack of quality linebackers could come back to haunt them in a playoff hunt. Jahlani Tavai is a player the Raiders should consider claiming due to the NFL experience he brings to the table. He was recently released by the Detroit Lions after posting 116 tackles and 2.0 sacks across 31 games played (16 starts). The 24-year-old has worked hard in the offseason to fix his flaws and could end up being a surprise contributor on this defense.
3. Michael Jordan, Offensive Line
Offensive line depth is one of the keys to success in today's NFL. It is also one spot on the roster where the Raiders are shallow. The Cincinnati Bengals recently released starter Michael Jordan and his talent alone warrants a look from Las Vegas. Jordan has spent most of his career playing left guard and has appeared in 27 games (19 starts) across two NFL seasons. The 2019 fourth-round pick was a center of trade discussions during the last few weeks as well. Jordan has proven he has what it takes to hold his weight.
