Pirates Get Bad News on Colin Moran Injury Update

In a disappointing season that sees them sitting at the bottom of the NL Central, things got even worse for the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.
During a clash with the Chicago Cubs, Pirates third baseman Colin Moran appeared to have pulled something when going after a line drive while playing at first. He wound up leaving the field in pain before being replaced by Todd Frazier. There are no details yet as to what the exact injury is or how much time Moran will miss, but it's believed to be a lower-body injury.

Moran Injury News
Moran's lower-body injury could not have happened at a worse time. He had really begun stepping it up this year, recording 4 home runs and 19 RBIs in 121 plate appearances. He was also averaging a .300/.355/.473 slash line, which was a solid improvement over his from 2020 (.247/.325/.472).
Even though Moran's injury is concerning, one bright spot is that he was able to stand up and walk away, albeit with a limp.
Still, you can't help but feel bad for Pirates fans. In a season when things haven't been going their way, it's a shame to see one of the team's few bright spots leave the game with an injury.
