A historic collapse in the ninth inning wasn't the only unfortunate thing that happened for Philadelphia fans in the Phillies' Thursday night game. Starting outfielder Nick Castellanos was hit by a pitch on his wrist, but the initial injury update comes with good news as the issue isn't expected to be serious.

Castellanos was nailed by an inside pitch during the sixth inning and could be seen walking up the first base line in some obvious pain. It originally appeared as if he was going to stay in the ballgame before being pinch-run for. The fact that the Phillies were up 7-1 made it a likely precautionary move.

X-rays taken after the game were quick to come back negative, which is about the best results Castellanos could've been hoping for. The All-Star slugger is considered day-to-day for now and all signs point to a return to the lineup soon. Manager Joe Girardi has to be happy to hear that.

The 30-year-old is off to another solid start in 2022 and has posted a slash line of .308/.379/.505 through 25 games played. Castellanos has also racked up 12 runs scored, 4 home runs, 6 doubles and 15 RBI. Keep in mind he is fresh off a 2021 season in which he smacked a career-high 34 HRs.

Philadelphia has odds set at +600 to win the National League East division and odds set at +2500 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
