For the New England Patriots, it has been one COVID-19 scare after the next in recent weeks. It all started with Cam Newton, who missed the Pats Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to the virus. Then after more positives, New England's Week 5 game against the Denver Broncos was postponed to this weekend.
On Friday, more positive tests shut down practice ahead of Sunday's Broncos bout, causing nervousness from all football fans. This morning however, there was finally some good news.
Despite the positive test, it appears that the Patriots have contained any possible outbreak. The plan is still to play on Sunday, which is a sigh of relief for both teams, and the entire NFL.
You see, the Pats and Broncos already rescheduled their byes last weekend, so now these two franchises have very little wiggle room moving forward. A cancelation could derail the season, or at least cause some major shuffling by the league.
New England is currently an 8.5-point home favorite against Denver on FanDuel Sportsbook. Should the game occur, the Pats will attempt to move to 3-2 on the season with a victory over the Broncos.
