Did anyone expect Patrick Mahomes to put up historic numbers in his first full season as the Kansas City Chiefs' starting quarterback? Perhaps Andy Reid did, which is why KC shipped Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins prior to the 2018 season.

Still, what Mahomes did last season was simply outrageous. In fact, he threw for at least four touchdowns in nearly half of Kansas City's games.

Unreal. Mahomes, who powered the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game last winter (a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots), finished his first full season at the helm with 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns. Madden numbers, no doubt.

As he gets ready to enter his third campaign in the league, it'll obviously be tough to match those numbers. But, if Mahomes has taught us anything this offseason, it's that he might not be human:

What will Mahomes do for an encore starting in early September? NFL fans all across the globe surely can't wait to find out.
