The Carolina Panthers have faltered down the stretch after a promising start to the year. The team is currently on a five-game losing streak, and their poor performance has prompted legitimate questions about Matt Rhule's abilities as a head coach.

Carolina's struggles under Rhule have reportedly "embarrassed" owner David Tepper.

Joe Person of The Athletic reports that Tepper is growing increasingly "unhappy" with the Panthers' play under Rhule. The head coach's insistence on trusting the "process" has rubbed some within the organization the wrong way given the results so far.

Carolina has gone just 10-21 in Rhule's nearly two seasons as head coach. Person claims Rhule will be given one more year to turn things around, but the end of the 2022 campaign could bring a major change made by Tepper if nothing improves.

The Panthers will try to break their losing streak over the last two games of the season, though they face stiff competition in the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to finish the year.
