Padres Get Good News on Eric Hosmer Injury Update
By Max Staley

The San Diego Padres appear to have avoided a disaster. First baseman Eric Hosmer was hit by a pitch on Friday night, and while there was some concern initially, the X-rays have come back negative.
It seems like he's avoided a stint on the Injured List, but he might miss a game or two while he gets right.
X-rays on Eric Hosmer's right forearm were negative. "Dodged a bullet there," Jayce Tingler said. Hosmer will be re-evaluated in the morning.

Eric Hosmer Injury Update
Losing Hosmer would be a disaster for the first-place Padres. The team has a slim 1.5 game lead in the NL West over the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. Losing Hosmer's bat would've been a big blow to San Diego.
Hosmer is slashing .293/.354/.427 with 5 home runs and 29 RBI.
Hopefully the 31-year-old can get back on the field sometime this weekend.
