The San Diego Padres can't catch a break with injuries to their pitching staff. Multiple relievers and starters have landed on the injured list recently, with Yu Darvish the latest to hit the shelf.

It turns out Ryan Weathers may be joining them after leaving Sunday's game with a concerning injury.

Ryan Weathers Injury

Weathers was forced to leave his start in the third inning due to an apparent leg injury. It was reported later on Sunday that the starter was scheduled to undergo tests on his right Achilles area. Any time a potential Achilles injury is talked about, it's always a cause for alarm, especially since Weathers needed help walking off of the field.

The promising 21-year-old lefty owns a 4-2 record this year with a 2.91 ERA, racking up 42 strikeouts across 17 games. He's expected to miss at least a few weeks.

Weathers joining a laundry list of injures to the pitching corps is a serious blow as San Diego looks to start the second half of the season strong. They currently own the fourth-best odds to win the World Series at +850, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
