The Green Bay Packers have suffered a blow to their offensive line ahead of Sunday's matchup against the 2-0 San Francisco 49ers.

Offensive guard Elgton Jenkins has been ruled out of this weekend's matchup with an ankle injury. There's no doubt that this will be a blow to the Packers considering how he's played 100% of their offensive snaps since the beginning of the 2020 NFL season.

Elgton Jenkins Injury Update

Even if the latest Jenkins injury update is disappointing news for the fans and team alike, it shouldn't come as much as a surprise. After all, the third-year guard was listed as being doubtful for the Week 3 game earlier this week.

As one of Green Bay's more promising younger players, Jenkins entered the 2021 NFL season after a solid showing in the previous campaign. He allowed just one sack on 1,037 offensive snaps for the Packers last year, finishing with an overall ProFootballFocus grade of 67.7. His efforts were good enough to earn him his first Pro Bowl nomination, which is something that Green Bay would love to see more of in the future.

It'll be interesting to see how the Packers respond to Jenkins' absence. The team's offense has already struggled this season, averaging 276 total yards from scrimmage per game — the fourth-worst average.

Regardless of how they bounce back from this unfortunate injury update, the Packers will first enter Sunday's matchup as the +140 moneyline underdog, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, while the 49ers odds sit at -166.
