Members of the men's USA basketball team have arrived for training camp in Las Vegas, and they'll soon embark to Tokyo as the heavy favorite to win a fourth straight gold medal. According to current Olympic basketball odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, Team USA is the clear frontrunner at -750 to win the gold medal for men's basketball.
The men's team will play five exhibition games in Las Vegas against other international teams ahead of the start of the Olympics on July 23 in Tokyo. Two of those scrimmages are against Australia, who has the second lowest odds (+1200) in the field of 12.
Olympics Basketball Odds
Australia has six NBA players on their roster, but team USA is loaded with an All-NBA roster for the Olympics. Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, Zach LaVine, Bam Adebayo, Draymond Green, Jerami Grant, Bradley Beal and Kevin Love will represent the United States at the 2020 summer games that were delayed to this year due to the pandemic.
Team USA is in Group A in the opening round robin format that includes France, Iran and the Czech Republic, the latter of which made history by qualifying for its first-ever Olympics. The top two teams advance to the quarterfinals along with the two best third-place teams from the three groups.
Play begins July 25 and the quarterfinals are Aug. 2-3, the semifinals are Aug. 5 and the finals are Aug. 6. The third-place game will take place on Aug. 7.
