Ohio State Opens as Huge Road Favorite Over Minnesota in Week 1 College Football Odds on FanDuel

The Ohio State Buckeyes fell just short of winning their ninth National Title after falling to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2020 Championship game.

They head into the fall with their eyes set on making it back to the playoff and open as huge road favorites against the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Week 1.

The Buckeyes are currently 13.5-point favorites against the Golden Gophers, according to Week 1 College Football Odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. Ohio State hasn't lost more than 1 game within the Big Ten conference during the season since 2011 when they finished 3-5.

After the success they achieved in 2020, head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes slide in as the No. 6 preseason ranked team. Ohio State is set to take on four teams ranked in the preseason top 25, including an enticing Week 2 matchup against the No. 9 Oregon Ducks.

The offense will look a lot different this season as the Buckeyes lost quarterback Justin Fields to the NFL. Redshirt freshman C.J. Stroud is expected to take over the starting gig and will benefit from the return of wide receiver Chris Olave. Olave racked up 729 yards and 7 touchdowns on 50 receptions in 2020.

With fresh faces across both side of the ball, Ohio State has to be pumped about playing a Minnesota squad that allowed the fifth-most total yards per game in the Big Ten last season (415.9).

Buckeye nation should buckle up for what is sure to be another entertaining season kicking off on September 2.
