O'Cyrus Torrence Scouting Report
After three uneventful seasons at Louisiana, O'Cyrus Torrence transferred over to Florida. It turns out that move couldn't have been better for his football career.
The 6-foot-5, 330-pound guard was an impenetrable wall throughout the Gators' campaign. Playing 698 offensive snaps, Torrence only allowed 8 quarterback hurries without surrendering a single sack or QB hit. In fact, he didn't allow a sack in his entire college football career.
Torrence also makes plays that don't necessarily show up in statistical columns. He's incredibly strong and isn't afraid to pancake opposing defenders. Many scouts have even labeled him as the best run-blocker in the entire draft class.
As much talent as he has, he isn't perfect. Scouts have criticized his speed at times, as well as the occasional mental error. Still, these are things that can be fixed at the next level with the right coaching environment.
O'Cyrus Torrence NFL Draft Prediction
With impressive size and strength, any NFL team with a hole on their offensive line will consider picking Torrence. He's good enough to be a starter in Week 1 and can give any lethargic run game a much-needed boost.
Although the projections vary, Torrence will more than likely be a late-first or early-second-round selection later this month. Keeping that in mind, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up on the Philadelphia Eagles.
After all, the Eagles have selected at least one offensive lineman in five straight drafts. Their current group of starters is all signed to either one- or two-year deals and with the likes of Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson getting up there in age, it's time to think about the future of the O-line.
With the ability to play on both the left and right sides, Torrence's versatility and skills would make him an instant fan favorite in Philadelphia.
Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles (Round 1, 30th overall)
