Nick Chubb Fantasy Outlook Includes Top-5 Upside Despite Crowded Browns' Backfield

When it comes to running back tandems in the NFL, there's none scarier than the Cleveland Browns' backfield. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt highlight the two-headed monster in Cleveland that finished third in the NFL with 148.4 rush yards per game last year.

Despite the crowded backfield, Chubb is positioned for another great season. He's currently ranked on Fantasy Pros as RB8 with an average draft position (ADP) of 7.8.

Nick Chubb Fantasy Outlook

Chubb finds himself in a similar predicament to what he faced last year. There's two factors in Cleveland's offense that work against the fourth-year back. One, obviously, is the Hunt factor. Hunt finished with more rush attempts last year (198) and total touches (236) than Chubb's 190 and 206, respectively.

Hunt is also the better option in Cleveland's passing attack, which is also looking very crowded thanks to a healthy return of superstar wideout Odell Beckham Jr.

Still, Chubb's performance in 2020 should dissuade any concerns over his involvement. Despite less touches and rush attempts, and playing in four fewer games than Hunt in 2020, Chubb still outpaced him on the field. Chubb finished with 1,067 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 5.6 yards per attempt and 88.9 rush yards per game.

The Browns enter the 2021 campaign with sky-high expectations and know the best way to deliver on those is to ride their dynamic backfield. Look for Chubb to put up another huge season as Cleveland's lead back.
