The Philadelphia 76ers arguably have the second-best starting five in the NBA on paper, but they haven't been able to put it all together. As a result, this team could be in for a second consecutive second-round exit in the postseason.

An earlier-than-expected playoff exit could cause a lot of unrest in the locker room, which might increase the chances of 76ers' stars like Jimmy Butler leaving for greener pastures this summer. If he does decide to move on, here are three potential landing spots for Butler in free agency.

The Los Angeles Clippers have frequently been linked to Kawhi Leonard, but with two max contract spots available, they might have interest in Butler as well. Butler could be the perfect sidekick to add to this cash-flushed, yet hard-nosed style of play, Clippers team. And his defensive intensity would be a nice fit with Doc Rivers' scrappy team.

2. Brooklyn Nets

Similarly, the Brooklyn Nets reportedly have their sights set on bigger fish, like Kyrie Irving, though Butler would theoretically mesh with this team. Brooklyn's lack of perimeter defense was exposed in its first-round loss to the 76ers, and signing Butler would go a long way to patching that up. Additionally, Butler is another scorer who could help take some of the load off D'Angelo Russell's shoulders.

As things currently stand, the Los Angeles Lakers are without a head coach, and it doesn't look like many top-tier free agents have interest in joining this team. Perhaps Butler wasn't the star LeBron James was hoping to team up with when he joined the Lakers, but he would be a good addition. The Lakers certainly have the cap space to pursue Butler, and he'd be a great fit as a secondary scorer and ball handler, and he'd also give Los Angeles' defense a much-needed boost.
