3 Most Likely Broncos Starting Quarterbacks for 2022
By Larry Rupp

The Denver Broncos have been auditioning one starting quarterback after another since the great Peyton Manning retired after the 2015 season. Nothing has worked so far and Denver is anxious to return to the playoffs. The upcoming offseason gives the team an opportunity to find their QB once and for all.
It could be through free agency, a trade or even the 2022 NFL Draft. No matter what, the Broncos' front office needs to be bold and make a move. With that being said, here are three of the most likely starting quarterbacks for Denver in 2022.
Broncos Quarterback
1. Aaron Rodgers
What a move it would be for Denver to lure Aaron Rodgers out of Green Bay and into the Mile High city. Last offseason was full of off-the-field controversy that caused a real question for Rodgers' future in Green Bay. Fast forward and the 38-year-old looks to be a lock to secure his second straight NFL MVP Award. He still may be looking for a fresh start and the Broncos have a lot of upside on offense. The receiving room is deep with the likes of Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, while running back Javonte Williams shined during his rookie year. Denver would have to move around some cap space, but it would be well worth it to bring in a 10-time Pro Bowler.
2. Jameis Winston
If the Broncos cannot find a trade partner, they may be forced to head to the open market. The only problem is that this free agent class lacks high-quality options. Signing seven-year pro Jameis Winston looks to be Denver's best shot in this scenario. Winston posted a 5-2 record with the New Orleans Saints this past season and threw 14 touchdowns compared to 3 interceptions before getting hurt. He averages 252.8 passing yards per game in his career and is only 28 years old. It's not outlandish to project that Winston's best work is yet to come. Overall, he is an obvious upgrade over Drew Lock and one that wouldn't break the bank.
3. Kenny Pickett
The Broncos could go the traditional route and draft a first-round QB that they believe could take over the job as soon as 2022. Pittsburgh's Kenny Pickett is poised to be the top signal-caller in the draft class after throwing for 42 touchdowns and just 7 interceptions this past fall. He brings insane arm talent to the table and improved on his accuracy with each year that went by. Pickett has more upside than any free agent on the market and could compete with Lock during training camp for the starting spot. After all, reports claim GM George Paton has already traveled to scout Pickett a few times.
