World Series Odds: White Sox Move Up With Padres To Challenge Dodgers

The weather is heating up and so are a few more teams to challenge the Los Angeles Dodgers in the latest 2021 World Series odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. The Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres have closed the gap on the favored Dodgers (+340), and both the White Sox and Padres are now +700 to win the World Series.

The White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays (+1300) are separated by just one game for the best record in the American League, and they have a key series starting June 14 in Chicago. The Rays World Series odds have come down sharply this month, while the Yankees (+850) remain a favorite despite middling in the AL East.

The Oakland Athletics (+2000) and Houston Astros (+1600) are battling it out on top of the AL West with strong records, but the oddsmakers are not giving them as much credit in the MLB futures market.

The New York Mets (+950) are still considered a major World Series contender despite playing just over .500 baseball as the only team to do so in the NL East. The Chicago Cubs (+4500), Milwaukee Brewers (+2200) and St. Louis Cardinals (+2200) are in a very tight race to win the NL Central.

The surprising San Francisco Giants are given even less credit (+3800) as World Series challengers, but the Giants are holding a slim lead on top of the tough NL West over the Padres and Dodgers. The Giants don't play the Dodgers until the end of June in Los Angeles.

And in a strange scheduling quirk, San Francisco and San Diego don't meet until September when they play three series to close the regular season.
