The Dallas Cowboys' first game with Andy Dalton under center certainly didn't end the way they wanted it to. Following Dak Prescott's gruesome injury, an already-struggling Cowboys team had its backup quarterback thrust into the starting role.
And while Dalton orchestrated a late game-winning drive in Week 5 against the New York Giants, that performance didn't continue against the Arizona Cardinals.
While many may have predicted a sizable drop-off with Dalton at QB, Mike McCarthy was apparently stunned by the poor play, which was evident by his remarks in the postgame press conference.
I felt like our preparation coming into the game was our best this year.- Mike McCarthy, Cowboys Head Coach
That quote certainly doesn't line up with what we saw on the field Monday night. The Cowboys are 2-4 on the season, yet still in first place in the horrid NFC East. Although, if McCarthy and other members of the Cowboys don't turn things around, and quick, they could quickly find themselves without a job.
