Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook Paints Safe WR2 Value

Heading into year eight with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mike Evans has painted a picture as one of the safest wide receiver options for fantasy managers. The three-time Pro Bowl wideout has recorded seven straight 1,000+ yard seasons to kick off his career.
He's the picture-perfect example of consistency at the wide receiver position and one of the safest bets for fantasy managers eyeing an elite No. 2 WR on their roster.

Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook
With such high levels of production, fantasy managers may be wondering why Evans isn't a real threat or sleeper for No. 1 WR potential. But, remember, fantasy is a game centered around volume. And, Evans enters year eight in the most crowded offense of his career.
Antonio Brown, Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski O.J. Howard, Leonard Fournette, Ronald Jones II and Scotty Miller are all names competing for reps on the Bucs roster. And, with future Hall of Famer Tom Brady under center, we know he's not afraid of simply throwing to whoever is open. There's no pampering of playmakers on this roster.
Evans did lead the Bucs with 109 targets last season, which he turned into 1,006 receiving yards, 70 receptions and 13 touchdowns. While Evans led all Buccaneers in each of those categories, he worked alone for parts of the year. Godwin only played in 12 games while Brown was added halfway through the season.
In fact, Evans' 109 targets didn't even crack the top-25 across the entire NFL last season.
Mike Evans ADP
Evans enters the 2021 season ranked as WR13 with an average draft position (ADP) of 38.0, according to FantasyPros. He's ranked as WR16 on The Duel's preseason rankings for PPR leagues.
Evans is a great option for any fantasy manager, but don't get cute, he's not going to steal you No. 1 WR numbers unless injuries hit Tampa Bay's roster hard this year.
