Michael Thomas Fantasy Value Plummets as Drew Brees' Skyrockets Ahead of Week 15 Matchup Against Chiefs

From an injury perspective, it has been a rough season for the New Orleans Saints' star quarterback and wide receiver. Both Drew Brees and Michael Thomas have missed a handful of games due to injuries in 2020, Thomas more than Brees.

As the Saints head into a potential Super Bowl preview matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15, they will be getting Brees back under center, but losing his favorite target in Thomas.

Drew Brees Fantasy Outlook

Brees hasn't played since Week 10, but prior to that, he had put up at least 19.5 fantasy points in four of his last five starts. In Week 15 he gets a Kansas City team that is middle of the road against the pass, surrendering the 14th-most passing yards per game. Given the serious injuries Brees is returning from, if you have another option, it would be understandable if you want to keep him on the bench, however, there are definitely worse people to start if you are in a pinch.

Michael Thomas Fantasy

While Thomas' fantasy value is completely eliminated this week, his absence could improve other players' outlook, like Jared Cook, Tre'quan Smith, Emmanuel Sanders and Alvin Kamara.

Alvin Kamara Fantasy

Alvin Kamara should also take a jump in production. Since Brees went down, Kamara hasn't produced the same as he used to. Kamara never topped more than 19 points while Brees was out, but in Week 1-10 he topped 20 PPR points five times and 30 points three times. Getting Brees back in the lineup should bring Kamara back into a more prominent role in the Saints' offense.
