The New York Mets aren't going to let a little rain mess with their plans.

Rather than shuffle things around, Mets manager Buck Showalter is going to keep his starting rotation the same following Monday's rainout against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Taijuan Walker was supposed to pitch on Monday for New York, but now he'll pitch Tuesday's game instead. That bumps Jacob deGrom back from Tuesday to Wednesday, where he'll start one half of the doubleheader while Chris Bassitt takes the other.

With the Mets clinging to a one-game game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the NL East, it makes sense that they want to avoid monkeying with their rotation as much as possible. Their starters have been one of their main strengths this year, as New York is currently tied for fourth in starting pitching WAR on FanGraphs.

There's only a month remaining in the MLB regular season, so every game matters at this point. Despite their shrinking lead over the Braves, the Mets are still -260 favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds to win their division.
