Former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz has experienced one of the most injury-riddled NBA careers in recent memory. Outside of appearing in 72 games in the 2019-20 season, Fultz hasn't been able to suit up for more than 19 games in any of his other four NBA seasons.
He has yet to play at all this season as he recovers from a toe injury.
Markelle Fultz Injury Update
We now have a tentatively timeline for when we could see Fultz back on the hardwood. He is expected back in three or four weeks.
Fultz will presumably resume in his startring role upon his return alongside young guard Jalen Suggs. This will push Cole Anthony back to the bench once he's healthy.
If Fultz can avoid injury, he can be a real help to this young Orlando team. Still only 24 years old, Fultz has plenty of potential to become a consistent and productive NBA player, especially on a team like Orlando that will continue to give him the chance to succeed.
Orlando's next game is on Friday, Nov. 11 against the Phoenix Suns. They will look to improve to 4-9 on the season against one of the league's best teams.
