One player is taking the league by storm this MLB season and his name is Shohei Ohtani. The pitcher/slugger on the Los Angeles Angels has been tearing it up on both sides of the ball and his success has garnered a unique shoutout from New York Mets starting pitcher Marcus Stroman.

Stroman's tweet proves that sometimes baseball players are just like the fans. Along with the rest of the country, he is in awe of a player that can throw 100 mph on the mound and hit 450-foot home runs at the plate. The baseball world hasn't seen a player like this come along since Babe Ruth.

Ohtani has been red hot to start the season and currently leads the league with 14 home runs. He also ranks second in RBIs (33) as well as slugging percentage (.632). As if that wasn't enough, Ohtani has made five starts on the mound posting a 2.10 ERA and racking up 40 strikeouts in 25.2 innings pitched.

Stroman is having a stellar season himself posting a 2.72 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through eight starts in his first full season with the Mets. However, he knows more than anyone how hard it is to pitch consistently well at the top-tier level of the sport. Stroman's admiration of Ohtani speaks so highly of his talent.

In the end, a compliment may not get any better than being called a mythical legend in human form.
