3 Most Likely Marcus Smart Trade Destinations

The Boston Celtics' season hasn't gone as planned, with the team sitting one game under .500 and in eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Opposing teams are smelling blood in the water, and veteran guard Marcus Smart is drawing serious trade interest ahead of Thursday's deadline.
Smart would be a huge loss for Boston, but the team lacks many tradeable assets, and he could facilitate a deal for a bigger name. With that in mind, here are three likely destinations.
Marcus Smart Trade Destinations
3. Golden State Warriors
The other two destinations on this list seem much more likely at the moment, but the Golden State Warriors have been interested in Marcus Smart before. Golden State and Boston talked about a trade before last year's draft regarding a swap of the No. 2 pick and Smart, so there's been recent efforts made by the Warriors in regards to acquiring his services. Perhaps they could sell the Celtics on a package involving future picks and Kelly Oube Jr., who'd bring a scoring boost to the offense on an expiring deal.
2. Orlando Magic
This is a destination that seems in play. With Aaron Gordon making his trade request official, the Orlando Magic seem ready to move on from the high-flying forward. Gordon could bring a dynamic element to the Celtics' frontcourt that's currently lacking, and he's developed into a respectable 3-point shooter (39.3% this season), which adds to his intrigue. At just 25 years old, Gordon has plenty of potential still waiting to be tapped, and he could hit the next level feeding off of opportunities created by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The Magic, meanwhile, would get a hard-nosed veteran who could bring stability to the guard position, which Orlando has lacked.
1. Atlanta Hawks
Now this is where things get interesting, The Atlanta Hawks, who've struggled this season despite spending big in free agency, reportedly have interest in Smart. It makes sense, as the team could use a fiery veteran to hold down a young locker room with budding stars and an interim head coach at the helm. For Boston, they've been linked to John Collins as a trade target for a while, and it's hard not to salivate over the thought of him holding down the Celtics' frontcourt for years to come. Even if a Collins deal doesn't come to fruition, Boston could still use Smart in a deal for Bogdan Bogdanovic, who'd bring a great mix of scoring and distributing to the lineup alongside the team's stars.
