Star safety Malcolm Jenkins announced his retirement from football earlier this year after 13 stellar NFL seasons. The Former New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles star is an active member on Twitter and has floated the idea of a potential return to Philadelphia.
Jenkins was drafted by the Saints and spent his first five seasons there, then played for the Eagles for six seasons before returning to New Orleans for the final two years of his career.
Malcolm Jenkins Comeback
While the three-time Pro Bowler got his chance to return to the Saints, it seems he wants to try to do that with Philadelphia as well, especially with the Eagles in the midst of such a fantastic season.
Unfortunately, it looks like Jenkins' potential return to Philadelphia has hit a roadblock. New Orleans still technically holds the rights to his contract, so any return to the Eagles would have to go through the Saints first.
It would be a great story for Jenkins to be able to return to Philly, and there's little doubt that the 34-year-old could still help on defense. We don't know what kind of shape he's in, but if he's considering a comeback he's probably been staying fit.
We don't know if this will be the end of the story here, but it's certainly a nice dream to think about for both Jenkins and the Eagles. Even if he doesn't come back, Philadelphia still holds the third-best Super Bowl odds (+600) on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
