Mac Jones Projected to Dominate Justin Fields in Alabama-Ohio State National Championship Game

The 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship matchup between the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes is set for next Monday night in Miami.
The Tide already boast an early 7.5-point favored edge over the Buckeyes, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, and the oddsmakers are also high on Bama quarterback Mac Jones' upcoming performance in this year's title game.
In fact, Jones is currently projected to throw for a whopping over/under of 365.5 passing yards in Monday night's national championship, which towers over that of OSU QB Justin Fields, who has a passing yard over/under set at 290.5.

With the kind of weapons Jones has at his disposal, anchored by 2020 Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith, Jones has continued to light up opposing defenses this season and the oddsmakers clearly don't think Ohio State's secondary will provide much of an obstacle to this pattern either.
However, while Jones has enjoyed an incredible season defined by more than 4,000 passing yards through 12 games, it should be noted that Jones has only exceeded this 365.5 mark twice in his last seven performances.
Granted, many of those games were firmly in control of Alabama from an early point, therefore the need for more passing attack wasn't the same as if the Tide were to find themselves in a shootout against a talent like Fields, who threw for 6 touchdowns and 385 yards in his team's CFP Semifinal matchup against the Clemson Tigers.
Yet, with the 2021 CFP title game's total over/under set for 74.5 points, the oddsmakers seem to think there's a solid chance that we see Monday night's matchup unfold with some serious scoring between both teams.
