The Texas Longhorns host the LSU Tigers in Week 2 of the college football season, as the team will look to improve to 2-0 following a 45-14 win over Louisiana Tech in their season opener.

The Longhorns are 6.5-point underdogs at home, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, in a game with a 57.5 point total. If history has anything to do with it, bettors may want to consider pounding the under in this game.

Tom Herman is in his third year as the head coach of Texas, and when combined with his two years at Houston, has developed quite the trend in games where his team is an underdog. In 12 games where his team isn't favored, the under has hit a whopping 11 times.

The program has experienced a marked improvement since Herman came to Austin, enjoying its first winning season (7-6) in four years in 2017, followed by a 10-4 season last year. Texas has also won both of its bowl games under Herman, defeating Missouri, 33-16, in the 2017 Texas Bowl and beating out Georgia, 28-21, in the 2019 Sugar Bowl.

The last time Texas faced LSU was in the 2003 Cotton Bowl, a game where Texas prevailed, 35-20. The total has hit the under in four of Texas' last five games, and eight of the team's last 11 Week 2 games.
