3 Rams Players in Danger of Losing Their Starting Jobs in the 2020 NFL Season
By Zach Brunner

After losing in the big game, the Los Angeles Rams had a bit of a Super Bowl hangover in 2019. They have spent the offseason getting rid of some big contracts in order to improve their salary cap for the long term. This includes parting with two offensive starters in Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks.
This shows that nobody's job is safe on the Rams, and everyone needs to compete in order to win their starting role and to help the team improve this year as they strive to return to the postseason. With that in mind, these are three Rams players that could lose their starting jobs during the 2020 season.
1. Josh Reynolds, WR
With the Rams trading away Cooks, Josh Reynolds gets promoted to the starting lineup. However, they also drafted wide receiver Van Jefferson in the second round. Jefferson isn't coming in as a highly touted rookie, so Reynolds certainly has the inside track on the starting job, but the draft capital spent on Jefferson is a good indication that the Rams would like to get him involved sooner rather than later.
2. Malcolm Brown, RB
As stated previously, the Rams parted ways with Todd Gurley, opening up a big hole on this offense. The team has expressed interest in taking a committee approach in the backfield, but it's Malcolm Brown that has the most experience and slotted in at starter right now. However, talented second-round rookie Cam Akers will have something to say about that. Like Gurley, Akers possesses the skill set to be an every down back, running between the tackles, but also thriving in the passing game.
3. David Long, CB
With Nickell Robey-Coleman leaving, the starting nickel corner job is up for grabs. Currently, David Long is penciled into the role, but versatile rookie defensive back Terrell Burgess will compete for the job. While labeled as a safety by many, Burgess lined up all over the last season at Utah. He played 133 snaps back at free safety, 285 snaps down in the box and 272 snaps out at nickel corner.
