The Detroit Lions wide receivers corps is already thin enough and the team received some bad injury news surrounding their top target on Tuesday. Following a head-to-head hit in Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Tyrell Williams was placed in concussion protocol.
As of Tuesday, the Lions' No. 1 wideout still has not been cleared, leaving his Week 2 status very much up in the air.
Tyrell Williams Injury Update
Williams will be unable to go for Detroit's Week 2 tilt against the Green Bay Packers as long as he remains in concussion protocol. However, this Week 2 tilt is scheduled for Monday Night Football and leaves the sixth-year wideout an extra day of rest in between.
If Williams doesn't play, the Lions are left with a young and inexperienced roster of wide receivers including Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus and Trinity Benson.
Williams saw 3 targets in Week 1, turning in 2 receptions for 14 yards before leaving in the third quarter.
The Lions enter Week 2 as 11.5-point road underdogs against the Packers on FanDuel Sportsbook.
