Lions Get Bad News on Jared Goff Injury Update

The Detroit Lions will attempt to earn their first win this NFL season when they take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 11. However, they will have to do it without their starting quarterback Jared Goff. The sixth-year pro has been downgraded to out due to an oblique issue.
There was some thought to #Lions having QB Jared Goff (oblique) active today, but it is not to be. He’ll be out, Tim Boyle will start & there is a really quick turnaround to Thursday’s early kickoff. While Goff has a chance in that and will want to, it may be an uphill battle.

Jared Goff Injury Update
Goff was absent in practice this past week and will not be able to give it a go on Sunday. His status for the Detroit's Week 12 Thursday Night Football game also remains in question. Third-year pro Tim Boyle is now set to draw his first NFL start and has completed 3 of his 4 career pass attempts for 15 yards.
It's no secret that Goff has struggled to play well in his first year under head coach Dan Campbell. The 27-year-old has thrown 8 touchdown passes and 6 interceptions across his nine starts this year. To make matters worse, Goff is averaging just 234.3 passing yards per game, which is his lowest mark since his rookie season in 2016.
Detroit ranks amongst the bottom ten teams in yards per play (4.9), total yards per game (319.4) and points per game (16.7). The Lions have yet to find any kind of footing on the offensive side of the ball and regularly find themselves down very early on. It's hard to see that changing without Goff playing.
The Lions head into Sunday as massive 13.5-point road underdogs against the Browns, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
