The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been one of the most banged-up teams in football this year, which isn't surprising given the age of many of their star players. Many of their key players have gotten hurt or are currently playing hurt, including lead running back Leonard Fournette.

While the specifics around Fournette's injury have been a bit murky, he surprisingly shed some light on his injury during a Twitter rant on Monday morning.

Fournette's tweet was later deleted, but his original message read: "I hate when people be on here just talking saying I’m out of shape etc do y’all understand I’m playing with a lisfranc in my foot every week can barley push off my foot but through the Grace of God I’m going to keep proving y’all wrong…… #BucsWin"

The 27-year-old revealed that he is dealing with a Lisfranc injury in his foot, which is extremely painful and often takes a while to heal. Fournette hasn't let it slow him down, however, as he's only missed one of Tampa Bay's 15 games so far.

Fournette didn't appear too hampered by the injury in Week 16 when he racked up 162 scrimmage yards against the Arizona Cardinals, helping the Buccaneers to a 19-16 victory. With Tampa Bay locked in a tight divisional race all season long, Fournette hasn't had an opportunity to rest and likely won't get any extended time off to recover until the offseason.

If the Buccaneers do end up making the postseason, Fournette's contributions will be a major reason why. The former Super Bowl champ has racked up 1,140 yards from scrimmage and 6 total touchdowns despite playing through a significant injury for much of the season, making his performance even more impressive.

Fournette and the Bucs will try to grind out another win in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers at home. Tampa Bay is currently listed as a 3-point home favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
