Latest Aaron Jones Injury Update is an Exciting One for the Packers

Green Bay Packers' fans had right to be worried when running back Aaron Jones went down with a worrisome MCL sprain injury two weeks ago. However, the running back has fought hard in his recovery and reportedly has a shot to play against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon.
#Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) will be a game-time decision today against the #Rams, per source. Jones practiced all week and there’s some optimism he’ll play, but they'll work him out pregame to see how he feels before making the final call.

Aaron Jones Injury Update
This lines up exactly with the one-to-two-week recovery timeline Jones was originally given. After missing last week's game, he was a limited participant in practice this past week. He has a chance to suit up in a crucial NFC matchup assuming he can go through pre-game warmups without any issues.
Keep in mind that a bye week does follow this game for the Packers, though. It wouldn't be shocking to see Jones held out to get as much rest as possible. If the fifth-year pro does play, he isn't expected to take on a full workload. Backup AJ Dillon is sure to see some work both in the rushing and passing attack.
Having Jones back on the field in any capacity would be a boost for this Green Bay offense as he has been a versatile weapon for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Jones has racked up 541 rushing yards and 298 receiving yards through 10 games played. He has also scored a team-leading 7 touchdowns.
Jones' status will ultimately come down to whether or not the coaching staff believes it is worth the risk to play him. For now, Green Bay fans should keep their eyes peeled for more updates before kickoff.
The Packers are currently slated as 1.5-point home underdogs against the Rams, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
