Several talented quarterbacks from the class of 2018 are in line for huge paydays heading into the 2021 campaign as their rookie deals wind down. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will be one of those inking a hefty deal following his impressive first three seasons.
Jackson has already made it clear that he wants to stay in Baltimore. And it looks like he'll be paid handsomely to stay put.
Lamar Jackson Contract
Jackson's contract extension is expected to be in the range of $40-$45 million per year annually, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano. That massive amount would put him in the company of Dak Prescott ($40 million average per year) and Patrick Mahomes ($45 million average per year) for annual compensation, but he's certainly earned it.
Jackson followed up an MVP-winning season in 2019 with another great year in 2020. He racked up 2,757 yards and 26 TDs through the air while adding another 1,005 yards and 7 TDs on the ground.
The Ravens' focus on adding wide receiver talent this offseason is exactly the help the 24-year-old QB needed to take his passing game to the next level. Jackson's success over his first three years and potential to get even better in 2021 will make Baltimore eager to get their star signed to a long-term contract.
The Jackson-led Ravens are the current favorite to win the AFC North at +115 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
