Linebacker Kyle Van Noy played in 14 games for the Miami Dolphins during the 2020 season before he was cut this offseason. Van Noy has since signed with the New England Patriots, but he doesn't seemed to be pleased with his Miami exit went down.
When asked how Brian Flores compares as the Dolphins head coach to his time spent as the Patriots' linebacker coach, Van Noy simply wanted nothing to do with the question.
This kind of ill will might be expected after Van Noy was let go despite signing a four-year, $51 million deal in the offseason prior to 2020. Flores played a major role in developing Van Noy during his time in New England, then sought out the LB after moving to Miami.
Van Noy was also asked if he will have any extra motivation when facing the Dolphins next season during the interview. He once again responded with a quick and brief answer that leaves much to be imagined. Van Noy simply stated: "Sure. You'll see."
If the Patriots' rivalry with the Dolphins isn't already strong enough, more fuel has certainly been added to the fire.
