It's clear that NFL teams aren't eager to shell out for wide receivers in free agency so far. As a result, this year's top wideout target, Kenny Golladay, remains unsigned despite plenty of interest.

Golladay's reported asking price might be holding his market back.

The four-year pro is looking for $18.5 million per year on his next contract. While that's not absurd for top talents at his position, Golladay is certainly aiming high with his salary wish.

Coming off an injury and appearing in just five games for the Detroit Lions in 2020, the WR didn't exactly play himself into a lucrative contract, although his potential is certainly there. Golladay put up back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons from 2018-2019, registering 5 and 11 TDs, respectively.

With a career average of 16.8 yards per reception, Golladay is a proven deep threat who could help unlock any offense. The Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears are among the teams vying for services.

However, with a stacked 2021 NFL Draft class and how receivers are getting paid this offseason, Gollday may have to take a "prove it" one-year deal below his asking price to hopefully help himself cash in during the 2022 offseason. But, with several teams in the running, his price may climb in the coming days.
