Rashaad Penny basically had the Seattle Seahawks' backfield all to himself in Week 1, but it looks like he'll have some company in Week 2.

While Walker missed Week 1 with a hernia, he's not listed on the Week 2 injury report and is set to make his NFL debut against the San Francisco 49ers.

How will Walker's presence impact Penny's fantasy outlook this week? Let's take a look.

Rashaad Penny Fantasy Outlook

Penny picked up where he left off after finishing 2021 on a tear, leading Seattle with 60 rushing yards on 12 carries during the team's stunning Week 1 upset over the Denver Broncos. He also added 7 receiving yards on a pair of catches, although he was kept out of the end zone.

Overall it was a solid performance against a tough defense for Penny, who handled all but one carry from the Seahawks' backfield (the other went to Travis Homer) and finished as RB36 in PPR formats. Walker's return complicates things, however, The rookie is coming in with a fair amount of hype after being taken in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by Seattle.

While Penny still figures to lead the Seahawks' backfield on Sunday, it likely won't be to the same extent as in Week 1. Walker probably won't have a large role right off the bat but should at least see a handful of touches, which limits Penny's fantasy upside a bit, especially against San Francisco's rugged defense.

We initially had Penny ranked at RB25 in PPR leagues this week, but Walker's status bumps him down a few spots to RB30-35. He's still a solid RB2/3 depending on league size, so don't let Walker's debut totally scare you off from using him.
