Justin Fields Reveals Bears' Shocking Approach to No. 1 Pick

The Chicago Bears landed the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft when they lost in Week 18 of the regular season. Now, they have a choice to make, do they trade the pick, or keep it? If they keep it, do they draft a top defensive player or a quarterback to replace Justin Fields?
Trading the pick could net them a massive return, which would help Chicago build around Fields, who made major strides in his second season under center. While all of us seem to be in the dark on the Bears' plans, apparently so is Fields.
In a recent appearance on the Riche Eisen Show, Fields claimed he has no idea what the Bears are doing with the first pick, but he would like to be in the loop and said "everyone would love honesty in the process."
#Bears QB Justin Fields said on the @RichEisenShow that the team has not told him how they'll approach the No. 1 overall pick. He would like to be in the loop if they look at other QB because "everyone would love honesty in the process."

"It's a business. I totally understand."
It's tough not to feel for Fields in this situation. He took a big step up in his second season, and showed he can be a productive NFL quarterback in his just second season in the league. While he still ceetainly has his limitations, most QBs do, and almost all do in their second season in the NFL. Being a good quarterback is hard, and it takes time to perfect your craft.
If Fields continues his trajectory, he could turn into one of the NFL's best, look at what the Eagles have done with Jalen Hurts, who had similar shortcomings when he entered the league, but with time, he's now in the Super Bowl.
But the fact remains, Fields wasn't drafted by current Bears GM Ryan Poles, and sometimes front offices like to live and die with their own guys. What the Bears do with the No. 1 pick will be a constant discussion until they make a final decision by trading it or using it, but clearly, whatever they do, Fields wants to be in the know on it.
